A few weeks ago, a dear friend of mine had flown down from Malaysia. Our general conversation about work, relationships, financial stability and our wildest dreams soon transformed into the kind of life lessons I receive at Project FUEL. I told him earnestly that each life lesson is valuable because someone has lived it to call it his/her own. My friend’s immediate next question was, “What is a good life then?” I replied, “That is subjective.” For me, handling life with a certain sense of balance and love is a good approach. But for someone else travelling often and being generous to others could be what comprises a “good life”. The bottom line is that there are many roads that lead to the same destination of a great life. But how many actually get there? (That’s a blog post for another time.)

Flooded with all these questions, I went to bed thinking intensely about a solution. Result? A list of 15 questions to help you find out what life really is to you. The next morning, I called up my super-talented artist and illustrator friend, Sadhna Prasad, to make the questions visual and more fun. She brewed her magic and here we are with 15 creative prints, that can also double as postcards*. Sadhna, too, before designing had to answer each of these questions (I don’t spare anyone).

There are no wrong or right answers, only honest ones. The aim of this activity is to help you become more self-aware. This happens when you answer a simple question like, “What is life at the dinner table every evening?” or “What is life in the middle of a traffic jam?” Your answers will not only surprise you but in most cases they will also reveal your patterns and priorities that you may be extremely happy with, or those that you might want to change.

When you find the patterns you want to change we hope that you replace them by taking chances and committing yourself to things you love passionately. I’ll be happy if you find even one “aha” moment while answering any of these questions.

When I sent this set to my friend who had initially sparked this activity, he responded with a quote by Rose Kennedy, “Life is not a matter of milestones but of moments.”

So, as you gear up to embrace another year full of possibilities, (overcoming) challenges and changes, I hope you take a moment to breathe and notice all that can come true in this seemingly choreographed yet wild dance called life.

Feel free to share your answers in the comments below. Tag or share this with someone who needs this right now.

*If you want a particular print or a set of postcards of your favourite questions from this series, write in to us at contact@projectfuel.in with the subject title – Order for prints/postcards.

  1. Good initiative- although I think attepting to answer this question itself is like judging life. We know so little- is it even fair to draw any conclusions on what is life ? I do understand craving to answer this questions but lets at least be flexible with our judgements and conclusions.

  2. Hi Deepak,
I came across you when a colleague of mine posted a video on my Watsup about Resolve your conflicts where you have beautifully explained life lesson on our relationships with others. I was really touched and googled about you and liked you very much. You are doing a wonderful job boss making people realise their true happiness.
You have inspired me to continue my writing letting people know what is life about and how much we can learn from it.
